Spork is made of GMO-free, corn-based bioplastic. All other components are made of bioplastic based on certified sugar cane and wood fiber (except for the rubber strap that holds the kit together).
Biobased plastics
Biobased plastics have a unique advantage over regular, oil-based plastics: they are entirely or partly made from plants or other biologically sourced materials.
Biodegradable plastics can also be entirely or partly made from plants or other biologically sourced materials, but they can also contain fossil-based materials.
The advantage of biodegradable plastics is their ability to break down under certain specific conditions, such as in a compost heap. However, in most cases, industrial composting is required for the breakdown to occur.
Spork holder
The serrated edge of the Spork makes it not only a spoon and fork but also a knife. Versatile, it works just as well on a backpacking trip as it does on a picnic or quick lunch in town. If you need to take a break from eating, our plates have a built-in holder for your Spork.
It's also good to know that the Spork is safe for use on pots and pans with non-stick coatings, in case you want to use it for cooking in the wilderness.
Everything fits together
A compact and convenient meal kit with several smart multifunctional components that store inside each other.
