You simply plug it into a wall outlet and connect it to your hub. It will immediately start helping to reinforce your Z-Wave mesh and extend the range by 80-100 meters.
The range extender also has a built-in temperature and humidity sensor that can measure from -20 to +80 degrees. It also measures humidity, making this an incredibly versatile product.
